Setting up a device and registering to a Screen Network

Device Set up made easy!

These are the steps necessary to prepare your device for display in your store or retail space.

 

First, Power on!

Power your device and turn it on. Plug it into a power outlet using the power cable it came with, and then turn your device on.  The method for this will vary depending on the device.  Refer to your device instructions.  

e.g. For a 10s tablet turn on by pressing and holding the power button, located along the edge of the device. Once the screen turns on, release the power button.

Screener OS installed in the device will guide you through the rest of the steps:

 

Step one – Select your language.

Screener OS will ask you to Select your language. Click on “Select from the dropdown” and choose your preferred language, then click the blue arrow below (Next)

 

Step two - Connect to the internet:

Connect your device to the internet. After your device has started up, you’ll see a screen titled "Select your preferred network”.  You'll see 3 options:

Wifi.  Select to configure your Wifi settings and connect to an available network.

Cellular. Choose to connect to a cellular data network. Please note, data charges may apply when using a SIM card. Consult your cellular provider for more information.

Ethernet.  Connect an Ethernet cable for automatic connection.

Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to find your preferred network, and then enter your network login details to connect. Once you’ve successfully connected, you’ll be taken back to the Networks screen. Touch “Finish” to close the Networks page and go to the Registration Screen.

 

Step three – EULA

The End-User License Agreement is between you and BlocksGlobal Pty Ltd. Stating possible risks and that you acknowledge the risks before you use the product. Read it (if you have not yet read it), and click the check box “Agree to Terms & Conditions” before clicking the blue arrow (Next)

 

Step four – Select your country

Select the country/city you belong to set your time zone.

To ensure the device is on your time zone you need to set this manually.  

When you first register your device it will be set to GMT time zone.  This creates problems with scheduling content so the device should be set to the correct time zone.  

Once done, click Finish

 

Step five - Register to a Screen Network:

Register your device to Screener. On the Registration Screen, enter the email address and password used to create your signage network.  If you don't know this information you can retrieve it from within Screener - instructions are here;

Returning back to your device, create a nickname for the device that’s memorable and unique, as you’ll use this nickname to access the device through Screener™. We suggest using a name that will help you determine where the device is located and which device it is. (Name of the store + location inside the store + type of device) Then touch the Register button.

Once the device has been successfully registered, your device is ready to go. It will load default content automatically, until you assign your content to it through Screener™.


This will play the default content you’ve set up. You can then go inside Screener to set the content you want your device to play.
