Publisher gives you one central venue to place all the files that you’ll use in your screen media—the Files section. You can place a variety of industry- and community-standard file formats into Files including: Office documents, images, video clips, artwork and much more. Publisher allows you to upload almost any kind of file.
To begin, login to your account. After logging in, you’ll be in the Home section, where you’ll see the sites you have access to. Near the top of your screen, you’ll see a search bar that helps you quickly and easily search through all your files. This can be a useful feature when you’re in a hurry and just need to find one file.
At the very top of your screen, you’ll see the link to the “Files” section. Click on this link to see a full menu of all your files. Uploading files to Publisher is easy, and you’ll find the process similar to that of social media sites like Facebook. Let’s begin by clicking the “Upload” icon on the lower left side of the screen. You’ll now see a new page called Upload file.
First, select the project where you’d like to store the file from the drop-down menu. Projects are used to organize your files and to control who has access to them. The team will have made a project for you when they created your account.
Second, click the blue “Add a File” button on the left side of the screen. You’ll see a window pop up, where you can choose the file you’d like to upload. To select multiple files at once, hold the Shift or Command keys on a Mac or the Shift or Control keys on a PC while you select file names with your mouse. Once you’ve selected the file or files you’d like to upload, click “Open”.
Third, add tags to your files, so you can easily find them in the future. To do this, type in your own tag words in the tag field.
Finally, when you’re ready to upload, click the blue “Upload Files” button on the left side of your screen. The speed of your upload depends on the number of files you’ve chosen to upload and their size. Once you’ve uploaded a file to Publisher, it will appear in your list of files on the Files section page.
