Site Admin - Adding staging addresses

When a new site is created, we normally create what is known as a staging address, so you can have the benefit of viewing a site as if it was live on the web.

You will be able to go through the Sites Manager, click 'Add Site', & know what domain to put in to create a staging address.

If you have one website in Publisher:

Your login would typically be <mycompany>.myopensign.com

Your staging address will look like this -
http://mycompany.blocksstaging.com
ie. http://mycompany.blocksstaging.com

If you have multiple websites in Blocks

your staging address will look like this -
http://ANYTHINGELSE.SLICENAME.blocksstaging.com
ie. http://retailsite.mycompany.blocksstaging.com, and
http://commercialsite.mycompany.blocksstaging.com

Special Note

For most sites, the slicename (instance name) will be the same for blocksstaging, as it is for session login.

So if your Global session address is http://mycompany.myopensign.com
your staging address will be http://mycompany.blocksstaging.com

There are some exceptions to the rule.

At the http://blocks-demo.blocksglobal.com site, the staging address will be http://demo.blocksstaging.com

As other exceptions come to light, we will make mention of them here.
