How do I clear my cache?

In order for you to see certain changes to either your live website or to the back-end, you will have to make sure to clear your cache before accessing the page.

There are various ways to do this, but here are the most common instructions to do it.

 

General keyboard Shortcut:

  1. Press [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Del] 
  2. Check all settings
  3. Press [OK]
 

Next are the specific instructions for the most common browsers:

 

Internet Explorer 7 and 8:

  1. Select tools, then Internet Options.
  2. Then under the General Tab, look for the 'Browsing History' category
  3. Click on [Delete...]
  4. Then Click on [Delete all...]

Internet Explorer 9

  1. Click on the Gears icon or press [Alt] + [X]
  2. Click on Internet Options
  3. On the General Tab, click the [Delete...] button under the Browsing History section.
  4. Check all settings then press [Delete].

Firefox 7-12

  1. Click on the Firefox tab on the upper-left corner of the browser.
  2. Click on History, then click on [Clear Recent History...]
  3. Select a time range to delete. You can use the default if you wish. Recommended: 'Everything'
  4. Click [Clear Now]

Safari

  1. Click on the Gears icon then [Preferences] or press [Ctrl] + [,]
  2. Click on Privacy, then click on [Remove All Website Data]
  3. Click [Remove Now]

Chrome

  1. Click on the Chrome menu icon seated towards the right end, beside the address bar.

  2. Navigate to Tools > Clear browsing data. 
    ***If you love shortcuts, press Ctrl Shift + Delete combination and ignore step 1 and 2.
  3. A pop up with appear on your screen. You can select, not just cache, but any browsing data you wish to delete.

  4. Since we are concerned with browse cache, tick mark the option reading Empty the cache and un-check all others. In order to clear cache completely we suggest that you select 'beginning of time' from the drop down. Click on Clear browsing data when done.

Clear-Cache-Only

Clearing cache has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Though, you may not want to lose the cache data (since, it is really useful), it becomes important to do so at times.
