All emails sent from Publisher have an unsubscribe link in the footer. From this recipients can either:
- Unsubscribe: This means that they will not receive emails sent from this interest group in the future
- Blacklist: This means that they won't receive any more emails from campaigns sent by this system / slice.
Unsubscribed Contact
Publisher simply removes the contact from its corresponding or mentioned interests, so it no longer receives EDMs for those interests.
When you send out an EDM, your subscriber has the option to unsubscribe from future emails.
Un-checking the check boxes of interests will specify which subscription interests will be unsubscribed.
Blacklisted Contact
A blacklisted contact will not receive any EDM. There are several reasons as to why a contact becomes blacklisted:
admin_blacklisted - This means that someone with user access has modified the contact information and blacklisted that certain contact.
contact_blacklisted - A contact has opted to unsubscribe from all interests and future emails, blacklisting himself.
hard_bounced - A hard-bounced contact means that the email is unreachable - it may be invalid, non-existent, or deleted.
soft_bounced_x3 - means email exists but not delivered by its mail service provider for 3 consecutive attempts. Publisher does not mark a contact blacklisted if the soft bounces are not consecutive.
spammed - Email owner marks blocks your EDM as a spammer.
